Happy New Year 2009.... My 2008 short review

This year is a great year for me. Traveling around Sabah is one of it. Been to KL too may times too.

Been blogging for 1 year plus now. Getting lots of money from it too. If you don't believe, just look at my previous post. Apart of it, I make acquaintance with quite a lot of people that I know from blog such as, Kay Kastum.

And the one that really fulfilling my dream is, owning a small business.

But 2009, I want to make a difference. I wanted something different. Something that are not inane just like what I face for the past year.

Something that challenge my physical and mental but really (word edited for surprise effect) and not required to get a CDL training. And that would be in 12 week time until I really made up my mind.

So, so long 2008, I really have a good time with you.

Welcome 2009, we shall see it together the changes.

p/s : I shall start my gym session next week ><.

Merry Christmas....

As today is Boxing day, I unwrapped all my present and I really love my present this year. All of this are courtesy from ....... MY OWN BLOG! Hahahha... told you that blogging is very cool things if you know how to earn from it.

I bought myself a limited edition Fallout 3. It comes with a limited edition bobblehead and also limited edition lunch box. Also included an art book and "Making of Fallout 3" DVD. The bobblehead is very cute.

Then this morning my order from UK arrived. Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics.

Actually I already get my very early Christmas present but I forgot to blog it. Few month ago I bought myself something that I always wanted to get before I started blogging. Now, after 1 year plus blogging, I get myself ......

Even though it is a second hand book, but I really satisfied with it. Another add to my Beatles collection.

Last but not least....

p/s : I should contact Flanegan about the video cards that I suppose to buy from him.

Vacancy still open for handphone technician

The vacancy still open as I mention for the last 3 month ago.

Anyone know someone who looking for a job as a handphone repair technician? My technician just quit few days ago and now I'm looking someone to replace him.

There is no salary will be offered but the pay will be based on 50% of the total repair. Or simply called commission. All the parts will be borne by us and this will be deducted from the total amount that will be calculated. We prefer local and has at least 1 year of experience. Socso and KWSP will be paid according to the commission.

There will be 3 month of probation period and the performance will be monitored. There are more perks will be added but just contact me using this blog and we can arrange the interview at my phone shop.

Just for the info, last month my technician can get around RM900 (nett salary) and if he consistent with his job, I can see that he can reach around RM1500.

Location at Asia City, Kota Kinabalu.
Still looking and so far no one qualify. Come on... this is not a open jobs in Dallas. It is in KK!!

Only if you want to go to Westgate

If you planned to go to Westgate, be sure that you go to their official website and booked your reservation there.

If I got the moolah to go there, sure enough I will book it now. Christmas are just around the corner and I should go to holiday with my wife. Not only that, on the 15th December will be our 3rd anniversary and I still didn't have any plan to celebrate it.

Thinking about going to Kundasang and stay there for one night. Dei, memang susah ni kalau kurang ongkos mo berjalan....

My brother little baby...

Who said that you can't get something from your passion. Please don't think negative. My brother didn't have any human baby. He just received his newly bought baby lens.

Weight approximately 1KG, giving me hard times to "cradle" it for a steady shot. Not sure if I can pop in some diet pill to make it lighter a bit :D

I think this is not a baby. This is MONSTER! He already make lots of people jealous not only using it, but buying it. He bought it for RM3100. Almost enough to buy another Sony A700.

But this is a superb lens. This is proved when he took a picture of the moon last night.

I want to get a real nice holiday

I've been posting this title at my Facebook for about 3 weeks already. But still I don't have any financial to do it. All my money already been invested to the shop. (For those who still don't know about it, both me and my wife are running a reload coupon shop at Asia City. )

I do have an opportunity to get a short holiday but I have to reject it since the day that they plan to go to Labuan collide with our Company Dinner. Since this is the first time in my entire employment, I think I should go. So bye bye Labuan. I'm not going to visit you this year. Who know I might get an opportunity to go to Disney vacations next time.

See you later , Labuan.

How to get rid of feral rat...

I don't know if Kay Kastum already accomplished his mission to eradicate all his 'new' enemy of the house but I found that this website has some good information on how to get rid of them.

Rodent are the worst enemy when they already in big group. Or should I say big family. They are not just a nuisance but they can cost you a lots in damaging item. Electrical appliances for such instance, they are not only can cause damage but can start an electrical fire. And that does include tankless water heater.

So now these are some of what I get from them...

Do not give food and shelter to these most unwanted guests!

* The time to act is before the signs (droppings) of a rat or mouse.
* Stack fire wood 18 inches off the ground and away from all buildings.
* Birdhouses and seed should be on poles and in trays rats can't get.
* Keep garbage can lids closed tightly.
* Plant bushes so they will stay at least 3 feet from your house.
* Keep yards and alleys clean. Take junk to the dump!
* If you feed them, they will stay. Pick up fruit and vegetables in your yard.
* Do not compost any animal products (fish, meat, chicken, cheese, butter). Keep lids tight.
* Use only rodent resistant composters.
* In basements keep any food in closed containers that rats can't chew through.
* Cover all openings to your house. Rats can get into very small places.
* Do not leave your pet food outside. If your pet doesn't eat it, the rats will.
* Roof rats get into your house from tree branches that hang over the roof. Keep trees cut back and cover any openings in the eves.

Simple right? And this is how we can kill them...
The best trap is the large, simple, cheap wooden "snap trap." They are sold in hardware stores. To use the trap:

* Bait it with pieces of apple, potato, raw bacon or with peanut butter spread on a cotton ball.
* Attach it firmly to the ground or solid place to keep the rat from dragging the trap away.
* Place the trap near where you have found the droppings. Make sure the trap is safe from people, children, pets or animals who could get hurt from it.

Not sure if we can get the trap as they recommend. But I think they do give a good tips.

* Place the trap near where you have found the droppings. Make sure the trap is safe from people, children, pets or animals who could get hurt from it.

Fallout 3

I'm addicted to this game now. I've played the first one and the second and there is no reason that I must skip this one.

Fallout 3 takes place in a post-apocalyptic United States. The main character lives in Vault 101, a fallout shelter in the Washington, D.C. area, with his father. One day, the player awakens to find that his father has ventured outside of the vault for unknown reasons. The vault overseer is suspicious that the character is involved somehow with his disappearance, so the player decides to venture into the wasteland to search for his father.
This is the most anticipated game for the year. And so am I.

Fallout 3 is an open-ended RPG with an emphasis on character customization, decision-making and tactical combat. As the game advances, the player can choose to improves various character attributes. These range from strength to intelligence to weapon skill, and also include Skills and Perks, or bonus attributes. Since the choices the player makes throughout the game are so integral to the gameplay, there are over 1,700 versions of the final cutscene, determined by the character's actions.

The game can be viewed from both a third and first-person perspective.1 Combat makes use of both melee weapons and science-fiction-style guns, like a handheld nuclear bomb launcher. Fighting takes place in real-time, but the game can be paused using the VATS system, which allows the player to select different body parts to attack. The effectiveness of each possible attack is displayed on the interface. All actions cost action points, lending an RPG aspect to the gameplay.

There is also a Karma system in Fallout 3 that measures the choices the player makes and adjusts the way non-player characters respond to him.
I was attracted to this game simply because they use jazz songs in their game and I am addicted to Mad Max movie. Yes, sex also one thing in the game. I did found a sexy lingerie item inside the game.

EPF Calculation

I found this on my Friendster. Not sure if the calculation are right or not.

It is advisable to maintain the contribution at 11% for our benefit.!!!!!

English Translation :

Assume monthly basic salary is RM4000.

- If your monthly EPF contribution is 11% ( RM440 ), taxable income = RM3560, income tax payable = RM77.

- If your monthly EPF contribution is 8% ( RM320 ), taxable income = RM3680, income tax payable = RM109.

Conclusion : If you choose to contribute 8%, you will end up paying more income tax to the government,
which will make the government richer. Finance Minister Najib said this measure is meant to boost up the slow-down market, but from this example wee see that the money does not go into the market. Instead the money goes direct into the government's pocket through the greater amount of income tax that we will have to pay. Obviously this measure does not help the market at all.

If this is true, then the gomen really sucks big time. They think that we the 'rakyat' don't know about their evil scheme? With that much money, I better spend it to buy self defense products instead of giving them.

My 375th post and counting

It's so hard to believe that I can make this post. I was tempted to close down this blog but with the good small income that I get every month really keeps me going.

I already renew my domain for another 2 year and I think I should keep up the posting. I can't remember how much already I earn form this blog but I do hope that it can continue for a long time.

Mind you that I renew my domain not from my own wallet. I use the income from this blog to renew it. Even I do get things from eBay without hurting my wallet. But I not gonna buy a Hydroxycut to slim down though.

Well, congratulation to me for getting this far.

I win again..

I did it again when Julian giving out contest with a mysterious prize to be won. I accidentally meet him chatting with a lady at Tanamera Coffee Shop at Lintas Square and when I saw his post about the familiar "Dilarang Khencing" sign I couldn't resist to give the answer.

(Credit to Julian, his blog site are embedded at the photo)

But when he REALLY give SURPRISING mysterious prize (he give a free size lady underwear the last one I know) I really afraid that he will give me 'tampui' (as we call the late night pee bucket). Ahh... good that I won a free drinks any way. Would be good if I won a ac compressor :p

I need money, please give me some...

What will you do when you has extra 2 unoccupied slot of RAM at your motherboard and 2GB RAM is just at RM99 per piece? I am very tempted to upgrade my computer memory only to disappoint when looking at my budget list. No more shopping spree for me as I already plunge myself into ASTRO customer billing list.

I just installed ASTRO in my room so that my wife and I can update our brain with Discovery Channel. Installation as cheap as RM199 and Rm50 monthly should be no problem. But the long journey to outstation making me feel so vulnerable so I decide to buy an insurance from Prudential. And that Rm100 per month. Who knows lah kan....

Now I have to do a maintainance check to all my guitar (three of them) and I think they need new strings. Not to mention both of my amplifier.

My spectacle also need to be change. I just bought a frame last night for Rm150 and today I need to send it to my personal spectacle shop to customise the glasses. I bet that will cost me another Rm250 as I need good glass material because I tend to be harsh to them. Damn, budget pun lari.

Now christmas is coming... And soon Chinese New Year!

500GB of Hard Disk

I think I'm going crazy. My computer are fully loaded with tons of movies and software that I finally able to download after using BolehVPN to bypass the stupid Streamyx traffic shaper. Streamyx block all of torrent connection in my area.

With only Rm30, I can download lots of old movie and software that can cost me hundreds of Ringgit in 30 days. Who want to buy old movie by the way when you can download it?

But downloading can cost more if you are the kind of "ketinggalan zaman" person. There are lots of movie that you want to download until you realize that your Hard Disk started to occupied all of your primary hard disk. Now, even my portable hard disk jammed with them. So time to get a bigger space of hard disk.

I got myself a 500GB hard for only Rm180 from a good friend. But getting an enclosure for the hard disk is a problem too. As the 500GB is a SATA kind (and not all enclosure can support 500GB), I cannot find any enclosure that can support the hard disk. Until I finally find a last one at Center Point that cost me Rm109. Not bad getting a RM289 500Gb portable.

Now after getting this, I'm planing to upgrade my wife laptop memory.

Kundasang, the last stop of my Road Tour

I didn't expect that my boss will booked us rooms at Celyn Resort Kundasang. With a good view from the veranda, I can't stop myself switching on my wife laptop and play the good old Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald songs.

No need aircond because the place are already cold. And the room are quite good. No baby bedding though :P

It was raining heavily when we arrive here. We ended ordering beers to make ourself warm. (I'm not going to post up about the talk that we organize at Ranau that night ;) )

As I am waiting for the rest of the gang to ready, I took my own photo while enjoying the view.

And this is what I enjoyed the most.

Too bad that I didn't think about bringing tripod for the camera.

This is the last post from the Roadtour that I can say a very good experience for me. Now, I know how to drive to Sandakan, Lahad Datu, Semporna and Tawau all by myself. Now I am half officially, a Sabahan boy, although I still failed to climb Mount Kinabalu and I heard that now it is very expensive to do that now.

Sandakan, land of our distant 'cousin'

Finally reach Hotel Sandakan at about 1 pm (11 Nov) after failing to arrive on time before the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre close for lunch time. We only get to see this 'naughty' monkeys waiting to grab any of your valuable thing when you are not paying attention to them.

When they fail to snatch anything, they will show you their rear...

We can't wait until the center open at 2 pm then we proceed to have our lunch at the famous Sim Sim Market.

Sim Sim Market or locally known as Pasar Sim Sim are famous with their Ikan Bakar (barbecue fish) and the price are very cheap. Not sure how cheap because my boss paid the bill ;)

The place are quite hot since we arrived there at noon time. We are sweating profusely even we choose a windy spot to eat. You can choose any kind of fish that are pre-cooked and they will heat it before they serve it to you.

Not my fish though. I have to admit, I hate eating pre-cooked and later heated food. So this place is not my choice. But I can give 3 out of 5 star for this one. Lucky for me, at least I not going to go through diet pill reviews.

Soon after that, we continue our journey to Sandakan Hotel and rest. Sandakan Hotel just renovate their room so we are very lucky for having brand new room. The rate are quite reasonable since the upgrade. Our room are rated around Rm210 and they give internet connection for free. Yeah, that is what blogger wanted the most.

Twin bed room for only one person. Heaven...

Not quite heaven though. I can't connect to the internet even after trying for 1 hour and I have to bring my laptop to the reception desk and still cannot get the 'landing page' (where you enter your username and password to use their connection). They even reset the transmitter just to satisfied me. I ask for their technician but unfortunately, the technician is out and I have to wait until 5 pm. Got nothing to do, so I replenish my energy as usual, sleeping.

Woke up around 5 pm and after taking my shower, I start to call the reception for the technician.
The technician arrive and started to troubleshoot my laptop and the 'landing page' are nowhere to be seen. he excuse himself and finally return with a bad news. The network cable are out of order and the whole 8th floor internet connection are affected. But the good new is, he offer me to transfer my room to 4th floor and give me the best room that has strong signal to the wireless connection. He asked me to have a look at the room first before deciding to transfer or not. Off we went and walla, BIG bed and a bath tub! :P

Who doesn't want a free upgrade? I agree and he called the bell boy to help me transfer all my things.

Sure enough, the signal strength is really good and I can dip my whole body into a warm water. I give credit to the technician for giving me the best service that he could offer. Not forgetting the staff at reception for giving me the best room ;D

The most amazing ukulele playing that I ever see...

I just recovering from my recent outstation trip and feeling very good now. I know I didn't update the leftover picture and also the entire journey. The work pile up while I was away :P I promise I will do that as soon as possible.

I really fond of people who can play this instrument even it is only a lousy song. It's kind a hard to get this instrument in Malaysia and even I found one, it is either lousy or too expensive. But I promise myself that I will get one for myself.

I stumble this video on Saturday evening and I was stunned with his playing. Not only that, I almost shed a tear just because it is one of my favorite song.

Introducing Jake Shimabukuro.

While my guitar gently weeps..

I never thought that ukulele can be played like this...

Lahad Datu, where nothing you can do unless you have plenty of timeu

It took us approximately 3 hours to reach Lahad Datu from Semporna using the new highway. We check in into The Executive Hotel that doesn't really "Executive" at all. No internet access! Only at their cafe!

This place quite scary for me because I can see lots of illegal immigrant here. Even the authority doesn't seem to care about them.

I didn't dare to bring out my brother precious camera out from the hotel. So I just take my room picture (plus some from the seminar).

Just look at the mess that we made.

Behind the smile, there is disappointed hidden somewhere.

I better off to sleep now. I can't think properly now.

Hello Semporna

I must not let this opportunity slips to update some of the my journey. I'm now at Sandakan Hotel, Sandakan. This internet connection is free from them.

Lets not waste anytime because my eyes are very heavy now.

After staying at King Park Hotel for two days, now it is time to move to another location. Next stop is, Semporna. Approximately at 10 pm we started out our journey. It took us around 2 hours to reach Semporna from Tawau. But actually, someone VIP ( I rather not mention his name) who were known well with his off timing planning asking us to send him to airport after he fail to give proper time to his friend to actually bring their car. Dammit!

He even fail to booked the venue that has been publish in the newspaper earlier.

Don't let the picture fools you. There is only 3 people who I can called genuinely came for the seminar.

Well, it turn out Semporna has better turn up than Tawau. Just look at this...

I never saw this in KK! Not even us ever think about making this at KK.

After this, we were brought to the Rest House and were greeted with this familiar view.

The SetingGanden... Just what I will see everyday at KK.

But if you just ignore that, you can see some beauty out of it. Like this...

(opss... I need to clean up the lens tommorow)

The turn up at Semporna is way better than Tawau.

We were treated like VIP, they even treat us local dance. (Forgot the dance name though.)

Soon after the seminar, we continue our journey to Lahad Datu hoping that we can get internet connection.

I have to keep this post short because I will be on the wheels this morning (remember I'm in Sandakan now) and I need to post up two more post to update each of my stop during my outstation.
